This Girl Can - take part in the antenatal and postnatal survey!

Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire are carrying out a survey to assess the thoughts and perceptions pregnant women have around physical activity.

FromĀ  initial research it seems that Antenatal women decrease or cease activity during pregnancy due to a fear that physical activity will be dangerous to their pregnancy, physical affects of pregnancy (i.e. morning sickness, joint discomfort and increased levels of tiredness) and general perceptions of being judged or body image.

Alongside this, Postnatal have difficulties in re-engaging with physical activity post birth due to the physical recovery following birth as well as increased emotions of guilt, availability of time, lack of support from family members and isolation brought on through PND.
